The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation
body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed
standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and
calibration services.
Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance
capability of these evaluators and it is only these companies that are
permitted to display the UKAS logo on their reports and certificates.
Accreditation is renewed annually, post-inspection. Burford Research
Consultants meet the requirements of the BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and the relevant
requirements of the BS EN ISO 9000 series of standards, including those of the
model described in BS EN ISO 9002 when acting as suppliers producing test
results.
Burford Research Consultants has been accredited by UKAS since June 1993 for child resistant container
testing.
UKAS operate on a global basis. Within Europe, they operate accreditation
agreements that are universally valid in most European states.
UKAS is a non-profit-distributing company, limited by guarantee, and operates
under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government through the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
